Honeymoon preparation checklist

So you are off on your honeymoon. Its an exciting time, but have you remembered everything when you are planning the whole thing? Well, if you are not sure have a look at this handy list for a quick rundown on all the things that you need for your honeymoon.

The honeymoon checklist

1. Discuss the type of honeymoon you want and set a budget. A cruise or resort vacation? Europe or Hawaii? There are .so many choices.

2. Begin the process of obtaining passports if you don’t have them. Remember that this could take many weeks, if not months.

3. Find out if a Visa is required and then apply for it as soon as you have your passport. Also check on inoculation requirements for the country you’ll be visiting. Make a note of getting these.

4. Make your reservation and then confirm all details. Make sure names are spelled correctly. When purchasing air reservations confirm seat assignments. Purchase trip insurance.

5. Set up a honeymoon registry list of gifts you would like to receive, including lodging, airfare, romantic dinners and activities.

6. If you’ll need foreign currency, exchange enough money ahead of time to get from the airport to your hotel.

7. Reconfirm all reservations a week prior to departure. (Reconfirm flights again the day before travel.)

8. Leave a copy of your travel itinerary and phone numbers with someone at home in case of an emergency.

9. Make sure you do not pack your travel documents and passports in your luggage.

10. Remember, you should purchase airline tickets in your maiden name! This is because otherwise you’ll have difficulty at the airport since you won’t have any proof you have a different identity (no certified marriage cert, changed driver’s license for example because it’s too soon after the wedding).
